Description
In this activity, students work in groups to perform two role-play scripts that demonstrate that empathy and sensitivity are needed when working with surgical patients.

Unit: Reflection Questions and Discussion
Description
In this activity, students work individually as they journal about common concerns of surgical patients, pre- and postoperative tasks for minor surgery, performing a sterile scrub, and suture removal. A class discussion on these topics can follow.
Unit: Ethics Debate
Description
In this project, students work in pairs to debate an ethical issue in health care. Students will do research, prepare positions statements and then debate the issue.
Unit: Current Event
Description
Students will review articles for information related to a topic in the module. Once an article is found, students complete a Current Event form.
