Unit 1: Format Lists, Paragraphs, and Sections

In this unit, students will learn about formatting, including lists, headers and footers, titles and styles, alignment, and page sizing and orientation.

Unit 2: Working with Tables and Charts

In this unit, students learn about why to use tables and charts; the parts of a table/chart; how to plan, create, and delete tables and charts; and how to enter information into tables and charts.

  3. Modifying Tables

Unit 3: Complete a Report Using MLA

In this unit, students will learn about style guides, use MLA guidelines to format a document, and use Microsoft tools to insert in-text citations and a Works Cited page and Bibliography based on MLA guidelines.

Project: Who's Who - Who Is This Person

In this project, students research and then write a brief biography about one of the well-known people using MLA guidelines. The document will also include a table. (Note: To simplify this project, students are not required to follow MLA guidelines for the table.)
