Description
In this unit, students will learn about: operative care, including minor surgical procedures, how the surgical room and sterile tray are prepared for and cleaned up after surgery, preventing sterile items from being contaminated, and techniques for placing instruments, supplies and sterile solutions on a sterile tray.

In this project, students work individually to design a developmentally-appropriate craft that children can make and give to a loved one who is a surgical patient.

In this activity, students practice procedures learned in the module using various scenarios -- sometimes in less-than-ideal circumstances.

Students will review articles for information related to a topic in the module. Once an article is found, students complete a Current Event form.
